You need your own copy of Star Wars Galaxies. SWG:Rebirth is free and does not sell the game. To play, you must own a legitimate copy of Star Wars Galaxies. The launcher plays from the SWGEmu client, which it copies from your SWGEmu install or downloads from SWGEmu's servers.
Getting started
SWG:Rebirth runs on the SWGEmu client. The launcher sets it up for you: it uses your SWGEmu install if you have one, or downloads the game for you.
You need your own copy of the game. If you have it installed from your original discs, the launcher copies those files instead of downloading them, which saves time.
Download the launcher, unzip it
anywhere you like and run SWGLauncher.exe. If Windows
SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info and then
Run anyway.
The launcher looks for SWGEmu on your PC:
Either way you need about 4 GB free. After that, the launcher keeps itself patched with the SWG:Rebirth files every time you press Play.
Use Create account next to the Play button, then press Play. The launcher fills in your username, so you only type your password at the login screen. Each new character picks hardcore or normal on its first login.
